The Figure Skating Interclub of Greater St. Louis has officially launched following months of collaborative planning, bringing together skating clubs and programs from across the metropolitan area under one unified organization.
What began as informal discussions in 2024 evolved into a formal organization when member clubs voted to establish the Interclub in November 2025. The new nonprofit entity represents a historic first for the region’s skating community, creating a framework for collaboration that benefits skaters of all ages and skill levels.
The Interclub unites six skating organizations from across the Greater St. Louis area:
- Creve Coeur Figure Skating Club (Creve Coeur, Missouri)
- Metro Edge Figure Skating Club (Webster Groves, Missouri)
- St. Louis Skating Club (Brentwood, Missouri)
- St. Peter’s Figure Skating Association (St. Peters, Missouri)
- River’s Edge Figure Skating Club (Edwardsville, Illinois)
- Centene Community Ice Center Learn to Skate (Maryland Heights, Missouri)
“The launch of the Interclub marks a transformative moment for figure skating in St. Louis,” said Jenn Wood, Interclub President. “Our clubs are working together systematically to create opportunities that would be impossible for any single organization to achieve alone. This collaboration strengthens not just individual clubs, but the entire regional skating community.”
A Mission Built on Collaboration
The Interclub operates as an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a clear mission: to foster cooperation among member clubs, create competitive and social opportunities for skaters, and promote the growth of figure skating throughout the region. Importantly, the organization maintains each member club’s autonomy while providing a platform for collective action.
Building for the Future
The Interclub has set ambitious goals for its inaugural year:
- Hosting a spring social event at Centene Community Ice Center’s outdoor rink, bringing skaters from all member organizations together
- Developing local competition opportunities, from entry-level Compete USA events to higher-level IJS competitions
- Pursuing hosting opportunities for national-level events
- Creating centralized communication platforms and event calendars to better serve the regional skating community
The Interclub is governed by an executive board with representatives from member clubs and operates through regular monthly meetings. The organization relies on dedicated volunteers who share a commitment to advancing figure skating in the Greater St. Louis region.
As the Interclub continues to develop, it will explore additional collaborative opportunities including coaching clinics, judging seminars, fundraising initiatives, and expanded competition hosting. The organization welcomes skating programs throughout the region to learn more about participating in future initiatives.
